Halloween Time

It took me a whole month to figure out what I was going to be this Halloween, but luckily, it only took only few minutes to put together since I already owned everything (Yes, I have a nice collection of brightly striped socks on hand).  My costume, if you couldn't tell by the hair, is Pippi Longstocking.  A wired hanger is the key accessory with the braids.

Happy Halloween!

New Hobby

I decided that I needed a new hobby, so last week I  bought a Cannon Rebel 3T camera and Adobe Lightroom editing software.  My friend, Jessi (her blog, Hiya Papaya, is listed in my links on the right panel), is a professional photographer, and she has been helping me get started with this hobby.  So hopeful, you will start noticing a difference in the picture quality on this blog as my hobby progresses.

This is a close up of my absolute favorite snack - rice crackers!

The Alpine Loop

On Saturday some friends and I drove the Alpine Loop to bask in the beauty of the Fall Leaves.  The leaves were oh so beautiful and brilliantly colored.  I just can't say it enough - I LOVE Fall!

Look what we found :)

The Big Two One

Jonathon turned 21 last week; to celebrate, we all got together for a dinner composed of breakfast foods. There were eggs, toasted bagels, muffins, bacon, and orange juice.  Jonathon, for some odd reason, did not want a cake.  He just wanted breakfast, so to sing him Happy Birthday, we just lit candles on top of muffins.

Happy Birthday Jonathon!

Oh, How I Love Fall!

Fall is my most absolute favorite season; it is just so beautiful!  Yesterday, I went on a hike through Mill Creek Canyon with some friends, and it was stunning.  It was as if 3 seasons merged into each other to create this magical wonderland.  There was the deep green undergrowth for Spring, the yellow and red turning leaves for Fall, and the wet snow for Winter.  Beautiful!

I just loved this fuzzy, green rock and had to give it a big hug.  Now, who could resist this rock?

The Big Degn Family Portraits

Back in July, my dad's family got together for family portraits. Here is all of the Degn family, minus Duane (my uncle), Christina (Duane's wife) and Holly (my uncle Bruce's wife who was 8 months pregnant at the time):

Here are all of my Degn cousins plus grandmother.  Now keep in mind, these are all my first cousins.
