Double Date Shooting

Last weekend, Jasen and I went on a double date shooting trip with one of his good friends and his wife (Justin and Dez).  The shooting was in preparation of the class that Justin, Dez, and I took the very next day.  The three of us took a firearm concealer permit class (Jasen already has his).

Holsters

Both my father and my husband have a new obsession... I mean hobby.  They enjoy the art of leather holsters making.  Below is Jasen's very first holster for his CZ.

Below is the holster my father made for my mother's gun (so romantic, right?).

Holiday Shooting

On Monday the Degns had their annual holiday shooting event in Provo canyon.  And yes, it was super cold and the wind chill was not nice.  I stayed in the car most of the time and just watched; I only step out to take these pictures.

My father loved shooting this year's Christmas present that he built for himself.

Pioneer Day Shooting

This Pioneer day, our family, along with my uncle Eric and aunt Laura, went shooting at our favorite spot, West of Utah Lake.  It isn't hard for my father to come up with an excuse to go shooting.  It was also a perfect chance to give Dave the ultimate boyfriend test - a shooting trip with my family.

This was the first time my Aunt Laura ever shot anything.  She did great.

Degn Family Reunion Part II

The rest of the 4th of July week was filled with even more family fun.

When the Degn brothers get together, they somehow find an excuse to go shooting.  So that is what we did one of the days.

The highlight of the shooting trip was the .50 caliber sniper.  It was awesome.

.50 caliber bullet - it is huge

On another day, we all went camping together up in Heber.

We had dutch oven cooking,

roasted marshmallows,

and played games.

Also, the girls made "girly" bracelets,

and the boys made "manly" cord bracelets.

The reunion ended that Sunday with my cousin Clayton's mission farewell.

My Father's New Hobby

My father's newest hobby is making leather gun holsters; he even has been taking a few classes at a leather shop. Below is a picture of his first creation he made for his gun. His next holster he is planning to make will be for my mother's gun (the one that he had excitedly bought her for Christmas).
